Kings of Rap Biggie (East Coast Edition)
“Who shot ya? Separate the weak from the ob-solete…”
Who ranks at the top of the Rap game? For years the debate has gone on and continues until this day. East vs West was one of the most noteworthy rivalries in the game’s history. This “beef” was heard around the world and sent Hip Hop into a frenzy in the 90’s and beyond. In August of 1995, Death Row CEO Suge Knight took a dig at Bad Boy Entertainment and Sean “Puffy” Combs at that the Source Awards announcing to the assembly of artists and industry figures: “Any artist out there that want to be an artist and stay a star, and don’t have to worry about the executive producer trying to be all in the videos … All on the records … dancing, come to Death Row!” These words would begin a conflict that quickly divided two coasts and hip hop fans everywhere. A feud that ended with both rappers being murdered in drive-by shootings by unknown assailants. Both criminal cases remain unsolved. Show your Brooklyn love and rep the Kings of Rap Biggie t-shirt with Biggie on top and slightly tilted to the right as a nod to our East Coast heads.
The Kings of Rap line by artist Frank Xavier pays tribute to those legendary MC’s that made the game great. Two of the greatest ever illustrated on a King of Spades card that has been through the war of this memorable battle. The turmoil, violence and bloodshed surrounding this time in history is capture beautifully in the artwork. This shirt will surely turn heads wherever you go.
